Sales Process

According to the Gartner Glossary:

A sales process s a systematic, multistep approach that enable a sales force to close more deals and increase margins An effective sales process is built back back from a customer buying journey (2023)

The sales process according to Walmart's structured process requires the customer to start as the lead to a paying customer

Stages of a Sales Process:

    • Lead generation
      • the customers who are interested in the products being offered in the store
    • Presentation of Value
      • how Walmart presents themselves. This can be simply by the prices that are being shown for their value or the services being rendered by customer service personnel when it comes to product or customer service information
    • Closing the Sale
      • involves the customer checking out and receiving the product and invoice of the product. This type of transaction involves the exchange of monetary value for business product(s).


FIVE FRAMEWORK COMPONENTS

Hardware: Cash Registers

Software: SUSE Linux Enterprise Point-Of-Service (SLEPOS)

Data: SAP

People: Sales Management, Customer Sales Representatives 

Processes: Customer shops for their product(s) within the store. Once the customer has chosen their product(s), they go to register and await their turn. The sales girl will then scan each product. If ever there is some kind of issued with the product-- sales management can step in so the delay in checking out a customer doesn't get severely backed up. Once the product is approved for packing, the sales person will pack the product. The register will print an invoice and hand the product and the receipt back to the customer. The process ends with the customer at this point.
